SOME MINISTERS ARE SQUATTING IN ABUJA - AMAECHI

Source : thecableng
Speaking to Osasu Igbinedion, on The Osasu Show, Amaechi, who recently launched the Abuja-Kaduna railway line alongside President Muhammadu Buhari, said the rail line would make housing cheaper in Abuja.
“Listen to me; do you know that ministers, as we are talking now, some of them are squatting? We are living in conditions equal to that of most Nigerians,” he said.
The minister said Nigerians can now live in Kaduna and work in Abuja, while paying less for accommodation in Kaduna.

“For those who don’t have houses, they’re able to rent houses at a cheap cost in Kaduna as against that of Abuja. It also impacts the savings; you have disposable income in your hand. It also impacts on agriculture, agricultural produce, you can transport easily and it will impact on cost of production because at that point, you’re able to move the cargo at a cheaper cost.

YOU ARE A WINNNER

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind. ..

CYBER BULLYING AND USE OF PARENTAL CONTROL - EXPERTS

According to the study growing up Online, Connected Kids, conducted by Kaspersky Lab and icon Kids & Youth, cyberbullying is a far more dangerous threat to children than many parents think. The consequences for the majority of young victims of online harassment include serious problems with health and socialisation.

Cyberbullying is intentional intimidation, persecution or abuse that children and teenagers may encounter on the internet. Interestingly, children aged 8-16 are more wary of this threat than their parents are. According to the study, 13% of children and 21% of parents consider it harmless. At the same time, 16% of the children surveyed are more afraid of being bullied online than offline, while half (50%) are equally afraid of both real-life and virtual bullying.

Parents should not downplay the dangers of cyberbullying. Despite the fact that the study found only 4% of children admitted to being bullied online

MICHAEL JORDAN DONATES $2 MILLION TO POLICE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND CHARITY

The sports icon has penned a powerful op-ed for The Undefeated, speaking out in support of both the African-American community and U.S. police officers.

"As a proud American, a father who lost his own dad in a senseless act of violence, and a black man, I have been deeply troubled by the deaths of African-Americans at the hands of law enforcement and angered by the cowardly and hateful targeting and killing of police officers. I grieve with the families who have lost loved ones, as I know their pain all too well," he writes.
"I was raised by parents who taught me to love and respect people regardless of their race or background, so I am saddened and frustrated by the divisive rhetoric and racial tensions that seem to be getting worse as of late, I know this country is better than that, and I can no longer stay silent.

HOW TO BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT

It takes a plan. Many individuals, particularly those with a healthy self-discipline and solid financial guidance, can reach this goal. Here are 10 ideas to get started.

Visualize first, then plan. Anyone’s vision of financial independence can probably use a reality check. Start by considering what your vision actually looks like and then gather some qualified financial advice to set, or reset ,your course. The path to financial independence may be considerably different at age 20 than it is at age 50; the more time you have to save and invest generally produces a better outcome. But whatever age you are, start by getting a realistic picture of what options you have.

Budget. Tracking your finances effectively starts with budgeting the process of measuring income, subtracting expenses and deciding how to divert the difference to your goals. It’s the essential first task in achieving financial independence.
