10 THINGS YOU SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT DURING RAMADAN


Ramadan is indeed a month of patience and abstinence from worldly affairs. It is the time for the remembrance of Allah and for repentance of sins as well as a chance to start all over again.
This month of fasting teaches patience and urges its observers to remain steadfast in their duty to Allah. While reaping the blessings and benefits of this holy month, Muslims should not complain about the hardships of observing fast. However, it is common to hear people complain about a number of things in this holy month.

Here are some things that top the list when it comes to being patient during Ramadan.

1.The fast itself
Fasting is demanding of us on many levels, which is the real test. You should refrain from complaining about feeling hungry or thirsty during the fast. Instead one should feel the pain of others who spend each year in this state. One should embrace this month and try to reap its full benefits.

2.The weather

BUHARI DIRECTS OSINBAJO TO SIGN 2017 BUDGET - GARBA SHEHU


President Muhammadu Buhari who has been in London for medical follow-up has directed his Vice, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to sign the 2017 appropriation bill as passed by the Senate.

A statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu said President Buhari gave the nod while maintaining that it is in the interest of the nation that Acting President Osinbajo signs the bill.

Shehu who is the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity also said that President Buhari stated his position in a letter to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma.

REPS SUMMON MTN, ETISALAT, OTHERS OVER SACKS


A House of Representatives panel has summoned the chief executive officers of MTN, Glo, Airtel, Etisalat and Intel to appear before it tomorrow over the massive job losses in the telecoms sector.

The committee on telecommunications, chaired by Saheed Fijabi (APC, Oyo), said the five service providers have questions to answer regarding their recent actions of sacking many Nigerians without justifiable cause.

FASHOLA ANGRY WITH ENUGU LEGISLATORS ACTION ON EEDC


The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Raji Fashola, has faulted the no confidence vote passed on Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) by the state House of Assembly.

The minister, who criticised the action on Monday in Enugu at the 16th power sector monthly meeting, appealed to the state government to settle the N2.6 billion it owed EEDC.

He said that the debt contributed to the challenges faced by the distribution company in meeting the electricity needs of its consumers.

He expressed dismay that the company had been under assault in Enugu State.
